ProFin - PA & Business Travel

THE NEED FOR COVER
RSA PA / TRAVEL PRODUCT
NEED A QUOTE?

THE NEED FOR COVER

RSA offers Personal Accident and Business Travel products to cater for a range of business needs. Common experience confirms what statistics proclaim - serious accidents do happen. Many people will know of colleagues who have been seriously disabled or, tragically, lost their life in an accident. Every day reports in the media remind us of large-scale and local disasters on the road, at sea, in the air, at home, at work or at play.

When a fatal or seriously disabling injury strikes, the financial consequences for both the employer and employee can be significant:

  • Employers may suffer financially from the loss of a skilled or key employee, they may be faced with the expense of retaining injured staff while employing temporary replacements and they may wish to assist the employee or dependants in such times of financial hardship.
  • Few families can begin to replace the loss of income and State benefits are far from adequate for most people's needs.
  • While contending with loss of income, there may be additional expenses to be met, such as medical or nursing care, home help or child care.
  • An accident or medical emergency whilst travelling overseas on business can be costly and traumatic, and often difficult to resolve when in an unfamiliar environment.

Personal Accident and Business Travel insurance provides benefits that help to meet these financial and practical consequences for employees and employers.

RSA PA / TRAVEL PRODUCT

Our standard policy provides compensation, regardless of legal liability, in the event of accidental injury which results in death or disablement.

Accidental bodily injury does not pre-suppose an accident. Our cover provides for internal injuries such as strains, slipped discs etc, as well as external injuries, provided that in all cases the injury was unintentional and unexpected.

For businesses with less than 50 employees we offer cover through our Enterprise team. Click here for more details.

PA policy features include:

Capital Benefit, a lump sum following injury that results in:

  • Death.
  • Permanent total loss of
    *    One of more limbs (including permanent total loss of use).
    *    Sight in one or both eyes.
    *    Hearing in one or both ears.
    *    Speech
  • Permanent inability of an employee to return to the usual occupation in the business.
  • Permanent partial disablement.

Weekly Benefit, normally payable at monthly intervals, in the event of:

  • Temporary Total Disablement from usual occupation.
  • Temporary Partial Disablement i.e. disablement from a substantial part of the usual occupation.

The Capital and Weekly Benefits can be expressed either as a multiple of earnings or as fixed sums.

Travel benefits include:

  • Medical and emergency travel expenses incurred whilst travelling on business.
  • Legal expenses and personal liability.
  • Cancellation, curtailment and change of itinerary including seat bumping from flights.
  • Travel delay.
  • Personal baggage and money.

Some of these benefits can also be extended to cover non-employees for whom there is a legitimate insurable interest on the part of the policyholder.

Why buy from RSA?

  • A catastrophe benefit designed by us to provide enhanced financial benefits where more than 5 employees perish in the same incident whilst travelling together on business.

  • Automatic cover for smaller acquisitions.
  • No hazardous pursuits exclusion.

NEED A QUOTE?

RSA can provide cover for almost any business or organisation. Generally the easiest way to get a quotation is to complete one of our proposal forms. In most cases this will capture all the information we require to provide a quotation. These are available from “Forms and Wordings” on this website, from your usual relationship manager or from the ProFin teams across the UK.

As a minimum, we would require the following information:

  • Full name of the proposer, with full description of the business and address;
  • Full details of the number and type of employees to be insured;
  • Level of benefits required, salary related or fixed sum;
  • Wage-roll details (salary related benefits) or the benefit required and the number of people (Fixed sum benefits) split by occupation and classification;
  • The operative time required – e.g. 24 hour cover, occupational accidents etc.
  • Past loss experience – 3 years as a minimum;
  • Details of any flying exposure, particularly single engined aircraft or helicopters – number of trips and people involved;
  • Details of known or anticipated travel to areas of unrest.
